MY BUILDING OPEN SOURCE PROJECTS

Much like a lot of you who are currently reading this blog, its safe t say I am jobless and job hunting, well to change this state and prove my skill, one of my many new year resolutions for this year was building a couple of open source projects, so I made a list

  • My Blog and Resume
  • Pandas on DB with flet
  • Revamping my AgroAI app because why not?
  • An appointment scheduler for my friend who run a service oriented business
  • others

I planned to build each project for a month build some using Flask, then Django and FastApi.

I started out "My Blog and Resume" which I later changed to "my_portfolio_blog", the requirements are pretty straight forward,

  • Flask,
  • JavaScript,
  • Html,
  • CSS,
  • Recaptcha by Google,
  • SendinBlue.
  • Aws EC2
  • Github

I started out by going design hunting cause to be honest, me coming up with designs can look like chicken scratch sometimes, anyways my primary destinations for design inspiration are usually Behance, Dribble and sometimes Pinterest, I wanted a simple design I could complete in a month, it was really important for it to be black themed, who dosen't LOVE black, I also wanted it to look really good and if possible have both the web and mobile user interface designed, basically reducing the design work because I will be fullstacking this all the way.

Luckily, I found this design and it was love at first glance. It was one of those moments at the store where you see something you like and you want to pick it but you are like let me look around, usually I'd jinx this and someone picks it first but this is not jinxable muahahaha.

However I did jinx it. If you remember, I previously said I wanted to build each project for a month, I started out on this project, first week of January, and then I had 3 weeks without power supply, coupled with fuel scarcity, so....Jinx! honestly it was horrible.

Anyways that's by the way and my resume design was highly inspired by the design I found. Thank God it was free to, so no copyright issues.

After successful building the resume and the blog section of it, this project is currently available for free at this repo, clone it, fork it, it is here to do your bidding.

Feel free to leave a comment, oops you but...you can't. Well there is light at the end of the rabbit hole, deeping on how deep you can get, that it you are able to contribute to the project by building out this feature. If the need does arise feel free to contact me using the contact me section on this blog, create an issue on github, I look forward to hearing from you.
